Ultrasound — real-time pictures without radiation

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of soft tissue, organs, and blood flow — with no ionizing radiation. It is fast, portable, comfortable, and can be performed during the same visit as your clinical examination.

Advantages

Why ultrasound first?

1

No radiation

Safe for all ages including pregnant patients and children. There is no cumulative exposure concern.

2

Real-time imaging

The transducer moves in real time, allowing visualization of blood flow, valve motion, and fetal movement.

3

Same-visit results

Most studies are interpreted quickly, so your clinician can incorporate findings into your care plan during the same appointment.

Schedule an ultrasound

Your clinician will order the appropriate study at your appointment. Call to ask about same-day scheduling availability.
